There is steadily growing hype around CBD (Cannabidiol), and for good reason! From the thousands of positive consumer testimonials to being featured on health shows like Dr. Oz, CBD is a way to heal your body and mind safely and effectively.

So, let’s jump right into a high-level look at CBD and how it may be right for you.

Firstly, CBD is one of the two main cannabinoids in cannabis (the other is THC).

Taking CBD is a way to get the health benefits and medicinal properties of cannabis without having to sacrifice your cognitive state in a way that might hamper your work ability. CBD actually has most of the same medicinal benefits of THC but just without the high and it’s the medicinal components that are in a more concentrated form.

Studies have shown that CBD reduces pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression, migraines, seizures, nausea, psychosis and other mental disorder.

CBD is commonly taken in a variety of ways. There’s sublingual, which is to apply CBD oil drops under your tongue. It’s a quick way to get it into your bloodstream for faster results. Other options include topical creams and balms which can be applied to your body. Of course, there are also CBD edibles which are a tasty way to intake your CBD (and my personal favourite). CBD is such an effective healing agent that there are now CBD products made specifically for pets, too! These are just a few examples of how CBD can be taken. In terms of how much CBD one should take, it’s recommended to consume a starting dose of about 25 to 50 milligrams and then go from there. Start small and work your way up to determine what dosage works best for you. It is not uncommon for people to take upwards of a hundred to two hundred milligrams of CBD. There are currently no known cases of CBD overdose.

Another question we are often asked is whether consumers of CBD would pass a drug test. While there are CBD products out there that may contain trace amounts of THC, the CBD items at Sweedy are at least 99% pure CBD and/or CBD isolates which will pass the drug test.
